Spontaneous and Directed Past-Life Regression

Past Lives and Formative Events

The majority of the world believes in the concept of reincarnation. In the West, more and more people are exploring the idea and are becoming increasingly open-minded about the subject and about their spirituality as a whole. This new willingness to test our intellectual inheritance and not be afraid to consider ideas that may contradict our beliefs is opening up a new realm of meaning for us. Experiencing past lives through hypnotic regression can be truly profound for those with an open mind, opening a doorway to understanding, healing and resources that may positively change their lives forever.

The human being is designed as an individual, and the brain and our senses are filters for information that allow us to live in the present. The entire person, however, is a composite of mind, body and soul, and regardless of our individuality in this lifetime, within each of us are memories, experiences and events of our past lives that have an effect on our present lives. It stands to reason that just as events from our childhood and early lives influence our lives dramatically, so too can experiences from past lives. Past-life regression can be seen as a logical extension of hypnotic regressive therapy. When a person has an ailment that usually responds to analytical therapy, but the cause of that ailment is not found in the present life, it may well indicate a formative event in a past life with negative consequences in this life, and possibly resonating throughout all of our incarnations. When this experience is discovered and worked through, the benefits are the same as with hypnoanalysis - often a complete release of symptoms, and newfound resources to approach life with. Past-life regression also can provoke a spiritual journey and drastically change your concept of self, the universe, and life.

It's also not necessary to have a specific ailment or problem to benefit from past-life regression (or indeed any analytical therapy, and suggestion therapy which is excellent for increasing potential and achievement). It can be guided as an exploration of self, for healing, to gain resources that are extremely useful in our present lives, or just to satisfy inquisitive urges. Past-life regression is often a stand-alone therapy, but also occurs spontaneously during hypnoanalysis and other regressive therapies. Without direction or prompting a client will recall an experience from a past life and will be astounded by this after the session. Often the client feels it was a genuine experience but that they must have been making it up, because it does often defy our logic, owing to the environment (culture) in which our logic develops. This can lead to a massive shift in belief for the client and a sense of greater meaning and purpose.

Having said this, it is not necessary to believe in reincarnation, or develop a belief in reincarnation subsequently, to benefit from past-life regression. Open-mindedness works both ways - experiencing a past-life recall does not guarantee that it is your own. It may be a past life of another that for some reason is prominent in your psyche. It may be that a past-life is recalled out of a universal consciousness (or a source of information we all share) as an allegorical tale, to aid us in our present lives. It may even be in some cases a story, manufactured by our own minds, using solely present-day knowledge, that will help us in some way. A lot of people are instinctively aware that this is a genuine past life that they have lived, but as you can see it is not necessary to have this belief for the experience to be intriguing, eye-opening and beneficial to our present lives.

My sessions last approximately 90 minutes to allow ample time for a long and relaxing hypnotic session and brief discussion afterward. My prices are very reasonable. Do something to inspire yourself today.

Good sources for past-life information

If you can find a copy, Dr Glenn Williston and Judith Johnstone's "Discovering Your Past Lives", Thorsons Publishing Group, is a fantastic guide to hypnotic past-life regression, written in a simple and absorbing style.

For a comprehensive scientific perspective, and an amazing wealth of evidence supporting reincarnation, any publication by Dr Ian Stevenson is a must, although his writing style is very technical. A good online source for his work can be found at the Children's Past Lives Research Center. In addition, listed on the same site, Carol Bowman's "Children's Past Lives" gives a good overview of his work and some fascinating examples of spontaneous past-life recall.
